To improve your chances of getting hired not only in the Cruise ship industry but overall, you will need a good and reliable CV and a Letter of Commendation.

What is a CV?

A CV(Curriculum Vitae) gives an overview of a candidates personal profile, work experience and other qualifications. It is typically the first item that the possible Employer reviews before he chooses the right candidates for an interview, later on Hiring.

The CV represents YOU when applying for a desired position, so therefore you need to present your self in the best way you can. 

Here is an example how your CV should look like when its done. 

* Personal Profile

-Upload a picture with a polite smile

-Personal data: age, birth date, current address

-Contact data: phone, email

-One or two sentences about your self ( not more)

*Education
-Start with the reverse chronological order
-Duration and the name of the institution
-Subjects

*Work Experience

-Start with a reverse chronological order

-Work duration (example March 2012-May 2013)

-Position (example Waiter, Manager ....)
-Name of the company, location
-Job description

                                                                          -Computer skills            -Driving licence

                                                                         *Your quality's
                                                                         -For example organization, dedication.....

This is a nice example of the order your CV should have. Always start with the reverse chronological order, simply put the latest things on top.
Always try to give a more detailed description of your language skills.

Letter of Commendation
Commendation letters praise someone for doing a task well above average.
This kind of document is gladly seen by all employers and it gives you an advantage in competing for a job position. If you posses a Letter of Commendation make sure you send it with your CV.
