"Sometimes we are lucky enough to know our lives have been changed, to discard the old and embrace the new and run headlong down an immutable course. It happened to me... on that summer's day when my eyes were opened to the sea".

Jacques Yves-Cousteau

Get Started

Before you apply for a position, you will have to fulfill these requirements first.
These things every cruise line will require from you:

* Good knowledge of English
English is the "nautical language". All safety announcements, instructions and captains orders are going to be announced in English. Further more even if the guests are not English speaking  you will need to have some English skills cause of your work colleagues. Team work is based on verbal interactions!
If your company your applying to is for example German, you will have to know English and German.
You can always participate in a Online English course to prepare your self. I recommend this one,

* Experience
No matter for what position you are applying, you need to have some work experience already.
The more experience you have in your profession the better chances you have on your job interview.
School diploma is not a must have, but it if you have it it will be for sure a advantage.
Example:
You are applying for a Waiter job. The company wont demand a diploma, instead you will have to write a test or prove your work experience through an interview. So if you don't have the basic knowledge there is a big chance your application will get denied.

Age
From the legal side, to work on a ship you have to be 18+.
To keep this topic short i will mention only a few "cruel" facts.
Most company's don't hire people older then 40 (unless officer or engineer position) and the most desired age is between 22 to 35.

* Healthy look
Don't worry, this is not the question are you handsome enough to apply for a job.
Healthy look is important to the company's cause you will daily interact with guests.
The first impression is Crucial! Always try to maintain a fresh look and a calm attitude.
Tattoos and piercings are not preferred.
Always smile!

* No Criminal Record
